The Tide was designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, the team behind New York’s iconic High Line, in collaboration with Neiheiser Argyros. The pathway stretches for 5km across the Peninsula, offering an evolving canvas of public art and interactive installations. The space is designed to bring people together, inspired by the Italian ritual of the passeggiata ,  strolling and socializing. Whether you’re walking the dog, practicing yoga by the river, or grabbing a coffee while enjoying the view, The Tide encourages you to slow down and take in the beauty of your surroundings.

The Tide isn’t just a walkway; it’s a cultural experience. Over the years, it has played host to bold art commissions and cultural events. One of its most notable works is Ian Davenport’s Poured Staircase ,  a vibrant splash of color that greets visitors at the Peninsula Square entrance. Davenport’s work uses gravity to create a dynamic burst of color, transforming the steps into one of London’s most vibrant public art pieces.

Another striking installation is The River in Verse by Marwan Kaabour (2023). This poetic piece reflects the rhythm of the Thames through lyrical fragments in multiple languages, celebrating the diversity of the Peninsula’s community.
