Our method, in public
Four proofs. One person signs off.
A badge on 24London says exactly four things were proved. It does not say we recommend the business, and it never says we telephoned or visited, because we do neither.
The phone
We text a one time code to the business number and the owner enters it. That proves the number belongs to the business.
The address
The enamel plaque goes in the post with an activation code inside. The badge only goes live when that code is entered, which proves the address receives post.
The company
We check the name and number at Companies House. Sole traders give a declaration and one document in the business name.
The photographs
The owner photographs the premises holding a code we issue, so the pictures are of the real place.
What the two badges mean
Verified: the business has premises a customer can walk into, and its address is published.
Identity checked: a mobile trade such as a plumber, electrician or roofer. The address is confirmed by post but never published. The page shows the areas covered, the trade register entry and the insurance expiry date instead.
Claimed: the owner has taken control of the page, but the proofs are not complete. No badge is shown.
What we do not claim
We do not inspect work, judge quality, or guarantee anything. A badge is a statement about identity and paperwork on the date it was checked, nothing more. Accreditations we confirmed on a public register carry a tick and a link to that register. Anything the business has only stated is labelled as stated and not checked.
Re-checking
Hours are re-confirmed by the owner every six months and the full file is re-checked every twelve. An expired insurance date moves a profile back to claimed automatically.
